Dr. Robert Singer is one of a select group of plastic surgeons in the United States who specialize in aesthetic (cosmetic) plastic surgery. Board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery, he has held the position of Associate Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UCSD and Traveling Professor of the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Singer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has held the position of: President of the pre-eminent American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, President of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, President of the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, President of the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation, and President of the San Diego International Society of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Singer is an internationally known plastic surgeon who has authored many scientific publications on various aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He has frequently been invited to speak to distinguished surgical groups in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Central America. He has been a resource for plastic surgical information to the international and national media, the Medial Board of California and the Congress of the United States. He received his training at State University of New York, Buffalo, Stanford Medical Center, Santa Barbara, Cottage Hospital, and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has been engaged in private practice in La Jolla since 1976.
Dr. Singer has held various positions at Scripps Memorial Hospital, including Chief of Plastic Surgery and Vice Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
